INFERNAL BEAUTY (BELGIUM)

INFERNAL BEAUTY formed in 1994, albeit under a different name. Originally founding members vocalist Maarten and guitarist Kristof pursued an avant garde direction, although once bassist Pieter and drummer Joachim joined the fold the Death Metal sound became more progressive. After a few months rehearsing as a quartet Maarten opted to leave due, it seems, his voice not being up to the extreme style INFERNAL BEAUTY wished to offer. He was replaced by Thomas and, after completing gigs opening for SADIST, EXTERMINATOR and AVATAR in August 1995, the group completed their first demo ('Drakensquar') which was voted 'Demo Of The Month' in the Dutch Rock mag 'Aardschock'. The success of the demo led to a deal with Hammerheart Records and the first album would contain a remixed version of the 'Drakensquar' ('Ruler Of Darkness') demo.
